Artist Statement
I spent about 12 years working in abstraction and installation before switching to a realist mode of painting in grad school.
My paintings are about aesthetics first- form over function. I think that a work of art should be something for people to look at, and that intellectual or theoretical qualities are secondary. I think a painting should look good when you put it on the wall.
I mostly focus on expressing the beauty found in everyday things.
