Coronado on a sunnier day than today. I won’t pretend to love the rain, being just as neurotic as any Californian about it, but I do like this: when it rains, the Eucalyptus tree that hangs alarmingly over the roof makes the whole place smell like a spa.

I made a new year’s resolution to work larger this year. Here it is October and I have finally managed it. I used to work large, large back in grad school and prior to that. But for the past few years, I’ve been really into miniatures. So this is a major departure from that… at the enormous size of 11 x 18 inches. for sale

Here in San Diego, we are spoiled by “perfect” weather but in reality, there are many deviations from “perfect.” For example, it might be 75 degrees instead of 72 and we will feel a little hot.
But today was not like that. It was absolutely perfect.
