Concha
I’m always attracted to the pink pastries but they are practically impossible to paint since I don’t have the right colors.
Here’s a picture of one of the flops:
Rudolph Donut
Woke up Christmas Eve morning to find Mike had waited in line an hour and a half at Donut Bar to bring me Christmas donuts to paint. Their donuts are great, their efficiency and the ergonomic catastrophe of their store less so. A really special treat.
Happy Holidays!
Canalscape
A secret garden on a quiet canal in Venice.
In the Twilight Kingdom
Sadly, my friends, after this painting the Turtlebread took a turtledive off the still life shelf and shattered.
More Macarons
I love these things.
Purple Donut
So I bought this donut before going to Vegas and didn’t have time to paint it. After two weeks in the fridge, it still looked like a donut and smelled like a donut, albeit with less-pretty frosting.
An old-fashioned donut deserves an old-fashioned treatment, doesn’t it? This one comes from the Spanish Baroque.
Turtle Bread
For years (or possibly less time), I wanted one of these turtle breads from Boudin Bakery. They always said no, it was only for kids. Now they have relaxed this strict policy.
Lemons and Limes
Lemons from my yard, and limes from the supermarket.
May Gray, Santa Barbara
Santa Barbara Beach Painting
Cat on a Garage
Blue Trailer, Oklahoma
After visiting my grandfather in Seminole, OK, I decided to take the back roads. I loved the color of this trailer.
The Yellow House
French Macarons
Macarons from Le Parfait Paris here in San Diego.
I love their baguettes too- they are European style, rather than the more-common-around-here American artisan style (which I also like). I am planning to try everything on their menu.
The last macaron painting has taken me a year and still isn’t done – the cookies just faded to tan and brown- but I really wanted these for dessert tonight.
