A plein air watercolor on Coronado. Though it is March, we’re having August weather. There were kids running around on the beach, dads grilling, people riding bikes on the waterfront with chihuahuas in the baskets, people taking soil samples (?). for sale
I loved the crowd of sailboats around Dana Point, and wished I was in one of them!

Sailboats on San Diego Bay. I enjoy the challenge of painting water, which is so many different colors at once, and the challenge of painting boats, which have complex curving shapes. This painting started out as drawings in a lawn chair on Shelter Island.
