Painted on location on Coronado. One of those hot, still mornings just before a Santa Ana wind started.
Painted last year downtown during the Art Walk. for sale
I painted this on Monday or Wednesday. I was trying to be on the OB Pier, but I’m not gifted at navigation and wound up on the wrong street and then I got lazy. An older guy showed me his 49ers tattoo and asked me to name the painting “Misty’s Home” after his dog since this vantage point is her favorite place. So here’s “Misty’s Home.”

Painting this smelled like diesel and human piss, and sounded like traffic.

A beautiful day in San Francisco. for sale
From a trip to San Francisco last year.
I live a few blocks from this Victorian apartment building. I painted this last year around this time. Since then, one of the apartments in the building burned, and now it’s behind scaffolding.
I painted a couple of recycled vinyl bags for Wasted, a repurposed art show that benefits environmental education here in inner city San Diego. It’s a great cause, it’s where I live, and something I really care about. The bags will be auctioned off at a fundraiser at Karl Strauss Brewery on March 28. Tickets are free, you can learn more on the event’s Facebook page.
