Fire Hydrant in University Heights
University Heights, full of great old architecture.
Easter Peep Painting
Another fallen peep.
Everyone’s crazy about Anders Zorn right now and yes, this is the Zorn palette, only I switched in more Cadmiums- which I think he did too. But I’ve read so many contradictory things about his work that I have no way to know for sure.
Yellow Birthday Cake

The rolling hills above Santa Barbara, dotted with California oaks and livestock.
Sunset Light, Santa Barbara
The perfect ending to a beautiful day in Santa Barbara, California. The light there has a special quality. Mellow, diffuse in the marine haze, and gently golden at sundown.
Santa Barbara Sunset Light is for sale.
Afternoon Light, Santa Barbara
Golden late afternoon light in Santa Barbara, California, with the mountains rising in the distance.
Santa Barbara Landscape is for sale.
East County San Diego Landscape

Santa Barbara Evening Palms Landscape
Evening light on Santa Barbara’s incredible mountains, seen from a side street off State Street.
I was amazed by the atmospheric light effects on these mountains.
I thought I’d never seen light like this anywhere else, and then we saw the same effect in a Monet painting of the Italian riviera in the Santa Barbara art museum.
